In this week’s article, Voices from the Streets, I would like to share Hiram Harris’ story, a young man who understands the concept of paying it forward. Hiram owns Hi-Tech Services, which includes networking programming, air conditioning, and registration.
I was amazed to learn that Hiram did not receive formal training for his skills. Coming from humble beginnings, he expressed his gratitude for the people who played an integral role in shaping him into the man and business owner he is today.
Hiram expressed his desire to pass on his skills to the younger generation, believing this was the only way nation-building could continue. His belief in ‘mind over matter’ drives him to persevere, and he affirms that you can accomplish anything you put your mind to.
He stressed that it is evident that life is often challenging for young people living in this country, but they cannot fall victim to negative stereotypes and pressure that may come from within the home and around the community. He stressed that if he had developed the victim mentality when adversity came up against him, he would never have experienced success.
He shared that we are living in a time when you must make up your mind to succeed because your survival depends upon it. His advice to the youths is to start a business solo or with a friend, as you would be amazed to see how this idea can grow into something you can be proud of and earn a living from.
He also admonished that when your idea takes off and you begin to see profits from your investments, pay it forward by helping someone else. Hiram shared that you can never imagine how simple words of encouragement can make a big difference in someone’s life.
He is not giving up on his passion for teaching the skills he has acquired to other young people, as there is enough space for everyone to succeed. Hiram Harris' story is truly inspiring! It's amazing to see how he has turned his humble beginnings into a successful business, Hi-Tech Services, without formal training.
His gratitude towards those who helped him along the way and his commitment to paying it forward by teaching his skills to the younger generation is commendable. His belief in 'mind over matter' and his determination to overcome adversity are powerful messages for young people.
He emphasize the importance of not succumbing to negative stereotypes and pressures and, instead, making a conscious decision to succeed. His advice to start a business, whether solo or with a friend, and to help others once you succeed highlights the importance of community and support. It's clear that Hiram is passionate about nation-building and believes that everyone has the potential to succeed if they put their mind to it.
His story is a testament to the impact of perseverance, positive thinking, and the power of encouragement. Keep up the consistent work, my friend. Thank you for sharing this uplifting story!
