The Office of the Deputy Governor has announced the appointment of Mrs. Valeda Arthur-Gardiner to the post of Vice Principal of the Raymond Gardiner High School within the Ministry of Education, Labour, Employment and Customer Services.
Mrs. Arthur-Gardiner who hails from Conch Bar on the island of Middle Caicos began her public service career in January 2000 as a Business Teacher at the Raymond Gardiner High School where she also served as the Head of the Business Department.
She holds a Business Diploma in Teaching from the University of Technology in Jamaica; a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida; as well as a Masters Degree in Human Resource Management from the same university.
Commenting on her appointment Mrs. Valeda Arthur-Gardiner said:
“I am deeply honoured and humbled by the confidence placed in my ability to become the Vice Principal of the Raymond Gardiner High School.
I know that with the help of the Almighty God I will do well, which coincides with “He who must lift you must be on higher ground”- a mantra that I have adopted and maintained as a guiding principle over the years.
I aspire to establish a school culture and educational program conducive to students’ learning and socialization needs.
I will seek to promote staff professional growth and development, as well as teamwork and cooperation.
I look forward to working with parents to ensure students remain disciplined and focused and receive appropriate attention to meet their varying needs.
I will endeavour to abide by the obligations under the Education ordinance and remain committed to my school to lead with integrity and Godly principles. I look forward to working with all stakeholders to continue developing well-rounded students that will contribute to nation-building.
