Update: Security Alert Lifted, Visitation Resumes at Cheshire Hall Medical Centre

The Turks and Caicos Islands Hospital-operated Cheshire Hall Medical Centre, has officially lifted the security measures that were put in place on Monday, September 2nd, 2024.


The lockdown, which was initiated after a gunshot victim arrived at the hospital, was implemented to protect both the hospital staff and patients.


"We are pleased to inform the public that visitation to the in-patient unit at Cheshire Hall Medical Centre has now resumed as usual, "the entity said in a news release.


The hospital management expressed their gratitude for the community's cooperation and understanding during the temporary suspension of visitation.


"We appreciate your patience and support as we worked to ensure the safety of our staff, patients, and their families," the hospital's statement further read. "Thank you for your continued support and understanding throughout this period."
