In a joint operation involving the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force (RT&CIPF) Marine Branch, the TCI Regiment, and the United States Coast Guard (USCG), authorities seized marijuana with an estimated street value of $931,600.

The discovery was made on the morning of September 16, east of South Caicos. Reports indicate that a small vessel was observed behaving suspiciously in the waters west of the island. Aerial surveillance located the grounded vessel, and three individuals were seen fleeing into nearby bushes.

Due to the challenging terrain, the TCI Regiment was deployed via USCG helicopter. During the search, they recovered five bags containing 38 packages of marijuana, weighing a total of 209 pounds.

TCI Regiment members and US Coast Guard personnel are photographed with the marijuana seized.

The investigation is ongoing, with authorities continuing to probe the origin of the drugs and the identities of those involved.

The RT&CIPF extended its thanks to the TCI Regiment and international partners for their assistance, emphasizing their commitment to dismantling illegal operations through coordinated efforts.
