Turks and Caicos Islands Government Restores Payment System After Cyber Attack

The Turks and Caicos Islands Government (TCIG) has announced significant progress in restoring its service network following a recent cyber attack.

The government’s primary payment platform, Smart Stream, is now fully operational and available for use by all ministries and departments to process payments. However, efforts continue to restore the revenue systems, including the tax and fee payment portal.

In the interim, TCIG is utilizing manual receipt systems at its Treasury offices while testing alternative solutions to minimize service disruptions.

A team of technical experts from the Turks and Caicos Islands, the United Kingdom, and the region is on-site this week to assist with investigations, recovery, and strengthening system resilience.

The government reiterated its commitment to ensuring the security and reliability of its systems and expressed gratitude for the public’s patience and the efforts of support teams.

Further updates will be shared as progress continues.
