Henrico Morris, 25, also known by his street names “Trippy” and “Rico,” has been sentenced to seven years in prison after being convicted on a serious firearm-related charge.

The sentencing took place at the Grand Turk Supreme Court on Wednesday, January 22, 2025. Morris faced one count of Possession of an Imitation Firearm with Intent to Cause a Serious Offence. His conviction followed an investigation into a violent incident that unfolded at a bar on Saunders Pond in Grand Turk.

According to court testimony and evidence, the incident occurred during the early hours of January 21, 2023, around 2:30 a.m. The confrontation resulted in a male victim sustaining injuries to his right leg. Though the exact circumstances leading to the altercation remain unclear, the presence of the imitation firearm was deemed a critical factor in escalating the situation and causing harm.

Authorities launched an investigation immediately after the incident, which led to Morris's arrest on January 30, 2023. Following his arrest, he was officially charged and faced legal proceedings that culminated in his recent sentencing.

The court’s decision reflects the gravity of the offence, emphasizing that even imitation firearms, when used to instill fear or threaten others, can have significant legal consequences.
