Teachers Male and Female teams ended the Turks and Caicos Islands Football Association (TCIFA) season on a high note, with the females being crowned overall champions, with the men copping the KO Cup Title.
On their way to being crowned overall female champions, the Grace Bay Pharmacy-sponsored Teachers FC won both the Apertura and Clausura championships to take the inaugural Cup title.
On the men’s side, Teachers were victorious over Academy FC on the weekend, thereby hoisting the PPL cup competition finals trophy.
Taiwayne Lewin, the coach for both sides, commended both teams for their strong and historic showing in both the men’s and women’s leagues.
“It was a long football season which saw some coaching changes, roster changes, and injuries to both the men’s and women’s teams. There were also interruptions in play due to national competition obligations, but I am proud of our players who battled all season long and put together outstanding results when we needed to,” Lewin said.
Lewin also thanked the sponsors who enabled the club success in the just-concluded season.
“A special thanks to all our sponsors, Crust Bakery, Ideal Cuts, The Tuscany, RBC and Grace Bay Pharmacy, for providing us with the resources to effectively compete in the sport we love,” Lewin added.
The SWA Sharks have been crowned overall champions of the Gilley’s sponsored Provo Premier League after defeating Blue Hills FC in the final. Winning the coveted title made them overall winners of the championship season.
