TCI Records 40th Murder in 2024

The Turks and Caicos Islands recorded its 40th murder of 2024 after a fatal shooting along Walter Cox Drive, Kew Town, Providenciales today.


Officers from the Serious Crime Unit of the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force (RTCIPF) are actively investigating the incident, which occurred along Walter Cox Drive.


According to initial reports, the Police Control Room received several calls shortly after 2:23 p.m., alerting authorities to gunshots heard in the area. Officers were immediately dispatched to investigate. Upon arrival at the scene, they discovered a man’s lifeless body inside a vehicle.


The victim had sustained what appeared to be multiple gunshot wounds. The identity of the victim has not yet been released, and no arrests have been made at this time.


The circumstances surrounding the shooting are still under investigation, and authorities are working diligently to gather more information and locate possible suspects. As this marks a concerning milestone in TCI's 2024 crime statistics, the police are appealing to the public for assistance.


The RTCIPF urges anyone with information to come forward. Individuals can report tips by visiting the nearest police station or by calling 911.
