TCI Records 34th Covid-19 Death

The Turks and Caicos Islands has recorded its 34th Covid-19 death.


This was reported by Interhealth Canada on Sunday. It is understood that the latest victim was an elderly person from Grand Turk.


The following is the full statement from Interhealth Canada concerning the latest covid death:


InterHealth Canada - Turks and Caicos Islands Hospital is saddened to announce the country’s thirty-fourth COVID-19 related death.


An elderly patient with chronic medical conditions passed away at the Cockburn Town Medical Centre in Grand Turk on Saturday, January 22nd, 2022. The patient had received two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine but had not yet received a booster dose. The next of kin have been notified.


The Turks and Caicos Islands Hospital and the Ministry of Health and Human Services wish to extend our deepest condolences to the grieving family and friends on the unfortunate loss of their loved one.


The Turks and Caicos Islands Hospital and the Ministry of Health wish to remind the general public to practice the relevant public health measures to suppress the spread of COVID-19.
