The Turks and Islands Hospital has announced the launch of two of its educational initiatives – the READY Observership Programme and the Clinical Observership Programme.
The launch, scheduled for Wednesday, July 21, beginning at 10am, will take the form of a press conference, at the Cheshire Hall Medical Centre, Providenciales, which will also have virtual attendees.
According to TCI Hospital, the duo of programmes seeks to encourage students at the secondary and tertiary academic level to choose careers in health care.
The READY Observership programme seeks to provide upper-level high school students with a behind-the-scenes look and in-depth knowledge about professions in health care.
Turks and Caicos Islands Hospital explained that due to the ongoing pandemic, the programme will be delivered in a virtual format over three days with practical and theory presentations to be delivered by health care workers.
It pointed out that the Clinical Observership programme seeks to target students pursuing a healthcare-related course at a tertiary level institution and ordinarily resident in TCI. The programme spans 10 days and comprises of virtual and onsite sessions.
