The tragic gun attack at Stammers Run, Snake Hill in Blue Hills, Providenciales, on the night of September 27 has now become a double murder, as the second victim, Francius Pierre, has succumbed to his injuries.
The latest death has now pushed the number of murders since the start of 2024 to 36.
Mr. Pierre, aged 41, passed away while receiving treatment at the Cheshire Hall Medical Center in Providenciales.
According to police reports, on the night of the incident, the Police Control Room received calls at approximately 8:35 pm reporting the sound of gunshots in the area of Snake Hill. Responding swiftly, police and medical personnel arrived at the scene, where they found two male victims—Francius Pierre and Paulcius Louites Vereus. Vereus was unresponsive at the time and was later declared deceased.
Superintendent Dean Holden, Head of Crime, Safeguarding, Public Protection, and Intelligence, expressed his condolences to the family and friends of Francius Pierre.
The Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force (RT&CIPF) has made a public appeal for anyone with information related to the incident to come forward. Tips can be provided by contacting the closest police station, dialing 911, or reaching out directly to the Serious Crime Unit at 231-1842. Additionally, individuals can contact Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-8477. Crime Stoppers also provides a P3 app, which allows residents to share information without fear of their identities being revealed.
This double homicide has shaken the Blue Hills community, and authorities said they are determined to bring those responsible to justice. The RT&CIPF said it is working tirelessly on this case, and any information, no matter how small, could prove invaluable in helping to solve the crime. The public’s cooperation is crucial in ensuring that justice is served and that such tragic incidents are prevented in the future.
