Selena Grant, who will represent the Turks and Caicos Islands at the Miss Global International Pageant in the Cayman Islands, is bubbling with confidence and excitement.

The coronation event will take place on October 13 at 7:00 pm and will be aired live on the Miss Global International page.

Grant, 23, expressed her enthusiasm for representing her country on the global stage as she made a courtesy call on the Minister of Tourism and Culture, Hon. Josephine Connolly, on Monday, September 30. She shared her excitement about the opportunity to showcase Turks and Caicos internationally.

Speaking to reporters, Grant said, "It was amazing getting the opportunity to speak with Minister Connolly about tourism and how pageantry can promote Turks and Caicos in the realm of tourism. I received crucial information on aspects of Turks and Caicos that I should highlight when speaking to the media abroad."

Grant, who is also the current Miss One Nation and Miss Global International Turks and Caicos Islands, emphasized the significance of her role in representing her country.

"Preparing for this pageant has required hard work and dedication," she said. "I'm doing my best to represent Turks and Caicos in the best possible light, showcasing our culture, resilience, and all the beautiful aspects of our islands. As you know, tourism is our bread and butter, so I can't get this wrong."

Grant shared insights into her preparation, which has included working on her speech, talent, gown, and costume.

She added, "It's been a lot of long hours and hard work, but it's also fun because this is something that I'm passionate about, and I love to do it. I'm excited for the world to see what I've put together for my pageant package, and I hope that it makes Turks and Caicos proud."

When asked about her message to young people, Grant said, "Stay sane, always believe in yourself, stay confident, stay true to yourself, and don't be afraid to step out of your comfort zone. What's uncomfortable doesn't mean it's a bad thing. And remember, delayed never means denied; a setback is always a setup for a comeback."

Local organizer of the event, Alicia Swann, spoke highly of the impact the pageant could have on Grant and the country.

"It is my belief that Miss Global International is perfectly aligned with our organization Myrna-Lisa's Myriad Pageant and Entertainment, and by extension, One Nation TCI goals of providing international exposure and promoting our beautiful country. This event opens doors for Ms. Grant to meet other young women who are passionate about pageantry and their countries, fostering a stronger bond of sisterhood with 25 other delegates from across the globe," she added.

Swann also highlighted the significance of this experience for Grant, stating, "Selena is very articulate and detail-oriented. She is working very hard to promote and display our country on an international stage. Her preparation is ongoing and will continue once she arrives in Cayman with the other delegates. This will be a lifetime experience for her, as Selena is the very first delegate from the Turks and Caicos to represent our country."

With her hard work, dedication, and enthusiasm, Selena Grant appears poised to make her mark at the Miss Global International Pageant and proudly showcase the beauty and culture of the Turks and Caicos Islands to the world.

In the meantime, Connolly said she was impressed not only with Grant’s natural beauty, but also her intelligence and confidence. She we wished her well and pledged to assist her preparation for the event.
