Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force Refutes False Rumors of Fatal Shootings


The Acting Commissioner of Police, Mr. Rodney Adams, expressed his concern over the dissemination of unverified information that serves only to fuel fear and paranoia within the community.

The Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force has vehemently denied recent rumors circulating on social media platforms that allege the police were responsible for the deaths of three individuals on Wednesday.


The police have categorically stated that these claims are entirely untrue.


In an official statement released to address the false rumors, the police stated the following:


"The Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force is aware of a WhatsApp message currently circulating on all social media platforms, alleging that the police killed three persons. Two from Dock Yard and one from Five Cays respectively."


The Acting Commissioner of Police, Mr. Rodney Adams, expressed his concern over the dissemination of unverified information that serves only to fuel fear and paranoia within the community. He urged the public to refrain from sharing such baseless claims and emphasized the importance of waiting for official police reports.


According to the police, the false rumor serves as a reminder of the importance of responsible sharing of information on social media platforms and the potential consequences of spreading unverified rumors.


"Please await official police reports, and we will continue to do our best to get them to you as soon as possible," the statement read.


The police also encouraged members of the public to contribute to maintaining law and order by reporting any illegal activities or providing information about ongoing investigations. They provided several contact options for concerned citizens:
