Rasheed Talbot of Alpha Christian Academy and Tanesia Gardiner of the Clement Howell High School performed splendidly at the Elite 5 Kilometer Run in Naples, Florida, early Saturday morning.
Both runners finished in the top two of their respective races, but Gardiner topped her category.
Talbot ran a time 19 minutes 2 seconds to place second overall out of 155 finishers; second in the male category out of 78 males; and second in the 15-19 age category.
Gardiner placed second out 11 females and first in the 15-19 age group with a time of 22 minutes 4 seconds.
Both athletes, preparing for the 2022 Carifta Games, with Gardiner eyeing the 3000m and Talbot the 5000, are conditioned by the Clement Howell High School Coach, Randy Ford.
