Police Launch Investigations into Clayton Morris’ Murder

Kew Town, Turks and Caicos Islands – Homicide detectives have launched an investigation into the murder of Clayton Morris, who was found dead late last night in Kew Town.


According to reports from the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force, officers responded to reports of gunfire at Musgrove Close, Kew Town, at approximately 11:37 p.m. Upon arrival, they discovered a male victim lying motionless on the ground. The victim was later identified as Clayton Morris.


Authorities have not yet disclosed potential motives or suspects related to the incident, but they urge anyone with information to come forward. The Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force extended their condolences to Mr. Morris’ family and friends.


This is the second homicide reported over the weekend. On February 15, officers responded to another fatal shooting at Ralph Close, Blue Hills, where they found a man suffering from gunshot wounds, but died minute later. The deceased was later identified as Renal Jean, a 34-year-old Haitian national who was reportedly residing in the Turks and Caicos Islands illegally. Police are actively investigating both cases to determine whether they are connected.


Additionally, law enforcement is probing a shooting incident that occurred on the evening of February 16 in Horseshoe Lane, The Bight. At around 8:00 p.m., reports of gunshots prompted police response, where they encountered two males with apparent gunshot wounds. Both victims were rushed to medical facilities for urgent treatment. Their current conditions remain unknown.


Police are urging anyone with information about these violent incidents to assist in the ongoing investigations. Witnesses or those with relevant details are encouraged to contact their nearest police station, dial 911, or reach out to the Serious Crime Unit at 231-1842.
