Pedophile Rapist To Be Sentenced Feb. 17


Williams was granted $10,000 bail with one surety.

A February 17 date is set for a Bahamian national who was found guilty in the Supreme Court for molesting a 13-year-old female.


Thirty-nine-year-old Lopez Keno Levar Williams was found guilty on January 17, in the Supreme Court for the detestable act.


The Long Bay resident was charged by officers of the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force -Safeguarding and Public Protection Unit (SPPU) with assault by penetration, following a report made by the victim on November 27, 2020.


He was charged under the Sexual Offences Ordinance 2020. The victim was 13 at the time of the assault.


The guilty verdict was delivered following the conclusion of the trial. Williams was then granted $10,000 bail with one surety.


The court ordered that he surrendered all travel documents, report every Monday,


Wednesday and Friday to the Chalk Sound Police Station between the hours of 6am and 8pm, and not travel throughout the islands of the TCI during that period.


A statement from the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force said that the SPPU wishes to express its gratitude to officers and civilians who assisted with the case and advised that if one suspects a child is being abused to immediately alert the authorities by making a report to the nearest police station, the Safeguarding and Public Protection Unit at 232- 6696, or the Department of Social Development at 338-4008 or call 911.
