The police have apprehended one man in relation to the fatal shooting of 44-year-old Chato Moore, a resident of Five Cays, at Dock Yard on the morning of Thursday, December 19.
At approximately 10:12 am, the Police Control Room received reports of a shooting in the area. Officers and medical personnel quickly responded to the scene, where they found Moore, unresponsive and with apparent gunshot wounds. Despite their efforts, Moore was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force (RTCIPF) has extended its condolences to Moore’s family and is urging the public to assist with the investigation. A male suspect remains in custody, and authorities are continuing their search for other individuals involved in the incident.
The RTCIPF has encouraged anyone with information to contact the nearest police station, call 911, reach out to the Serious Crime Unit at 231-1842, or use Crime Stoppers at 1-800-8477 to provide anonymous tips. The public is also invited to use the Crime Stoppers P3 app to share information.
Investigations are ongoing, with officers from the Serious Crime Unit leading the case.
