The Office of the Deputy Governor is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Nideka Misick as the Communications Coordinator in the Office of the Premier and Public Policy.
In her new role, Ms. Misick will use her wealth of knowledge and expertise to enhance the office's communication strategies.
Ms Misick holds an Associate's degree in Business Studies from the Turks and Caicos Islands Community College (TCICC). She is pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Political Science with a minor in Economics at the University of the West Indies Global Campus.
In addition to her academic achievements, Ms. Misick has earned several certifications, including Integrated and Strategic Communication Campaign from the University of Colorado Boulder, Basics of Project Management from the International Business Management Institute, Certification in Hospitality and Tourism Management from Florida Atlantic University (FAU), Certification in Executive Skills, and Certification in Media Training for Politics, Authors, and Service Professionals.
Ms. Misick brings a robust background in communications and administration, having served as an Administrative Officer for the Turks and Caicos Islands Government (TCIG) from September 2023 to January 2025. Prior to that, she worked as a Supreme Court Clerk from March 2023 to September 2023. Her professional experience also includes a position as Social Media Coordinator at Beaches Turks and Caicos in 2023, where she successfully managed the resort's social media platforms, conducted content creation, engaged with followers, and reported social media updates to corporate offices. Additionally, she has a solid foundation in administrative duties, having spent five years as an Administrative Assistant, where she was responsible for onboarding new staff, managing confidential data, and assisting with budget reports for the corporate office.
Ms. Misick is an active member of the Civil Service Association (CSA) Young Workers Group, where she currently serves as the Newsletter Chair. In this role, she focuses on keeping younger demographics within TCIG informed about various aspects of the organization, including the employee handbook, while also highlighting the contributions and achievements of young staff members.
For the past three years, she has volunteered as a mentor at Clement Howell High School, offering guidance and support to students. Additionally, she serves as the Membership Chair of the Rotaract Club of Providenciales 2024/2025, where her responsibilities include fostering member engagement and leading recruitment efforts to strengthen the club's impact.
Speaking on her appointment, Ms. Misick said, "I would like to begin by expressing my heartfelt gratitude to the Almighty God for granting me the opportunity to serve as the Communications Coordinator in the Office of the Premier & Public Policy. I am dedicated to utilizing my skills and experiences to strengthen the office's communication strategies and cultivate meaningful engagement with all stakeholders.
