James McAnally has been returned unopposed as President of the Turks & Caicos Hotel and Tourism Association (TCHTA), securing a second consecutive term as head of the organization.
The AGM was held at Beaches Turks and Caicos Resort and Spa’s Key West Village on March 20, 2025.
His unchallenged nomination reflects the confidence and trust of the association’s membership, who have endorsed his continued leadership at a critical time for the nation’s tourism sector.
McAnally’s reappointment was confirmed during the TCHTA’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) and bi-annual Board of Directors Elections, held at the Key West Conference Room of Beaches Resort Villages & Spa in Providenciales.
Addressing members following the announcement, McAnally stated: “It has been a profound honor to serve as President, working alongside this dynamic and dedicated team for the past two years. The work we have accomplished together has laid a powerful foundation, and I am more determined than ever to strengthen our collaboration with the Government and key stakeholders.
“As we move forward, our unified efforts will pave the way for impactful, sustainable growth and prosperity for our tourism industry and the people of these beautiful islands.”
The AGM opened with special guest remarks from Premier Hon. C. Washington Misick, who emphasized the Government’s keen interest in building stronger, results-driven public-private partnerships with the tourism sector.
“The collaboration we’ve enjoyed in the past has served us well, but now it must be turbo-charged to meet the growing demands of a rapidly changing tourism landscape,” the Premier said.
He touched on the Government’s plans to address issues such as crime, the state of financial services, and the future of the newly established tourism authority, Experience Turks & Caicos.
“Tourism is the heartbeat of our economy, and our commitment is to ensure that we are not only promoting the destination but also protecting its integrity and the wellbeing of all who live and work here,” he added.
Minister of Tourism Hon. Zhavargo Jolly also addressed the gathering, expressing his full support for the association and its initiatives. He shared that the Premier has empowered him to “act audaciously” in his role, assuring members that his ministry is ready to partner with the TCHTA to strengthen the industry.
“My door is open, and I am here to work hand in hand with you,” he said.
