FortisTCI Launches Apprenticeship Program

FortisTCI President and CEO Ruth Forbes announce the opening of the Company’s new Apprenticeship Program during a press conference.

FortisTCI is now accepting applications for its newly launched apprenticeship program, which offers Associate and Bachelor's degree graduates an opportunity to experience the business environment within its three major divisions, starting August 2, 2022.

A press conference was held at the Company's headquarters in Providenciales on Thursday, May 26, 2022, to unveil the offering. President and CEO Ruth Forbes and Director of Human Resource Claudia Munnings provided an overview of the program and its value to potential candidates. Manager of Innovation and Resource Planning, TeAnn Thomas, and Business Technological Solutions Intern Roshawn Cox started as interns and reflected on their professional growth. Both speakers heralded the Company as a great place to work.

Thomas is a past FortisTCI scholarship recipient and has been promoted several times since joining the Company in 2014. She plays an influential role in the Company's renewable energy programs. Cox began his association with FortisTCI by participating in the Company's annual Science and Technology Fair as a student at Maranatha Academy. He persistently enrolled in the FortisTCI Student Internship Program every summer between 2016 and 2021 and is now a thriving employee with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science.

The Company seeks to recruit four (4) apprentices to work for a period of two (2) years. The program aims to provide the competencies needed to contribute effectively within the organization and industry through work experience and on-the-job learning. Candidates will rotate within a specific division for the first 6-12 months for broad exposure with a dedicated placement for the next 12 months according to proficiency. Apprentices will receive competitive compensation and similar benefits to the Company's employees. The deadline for applications is June 17. Application forms are available on www.fortistci.com/careers.

The eligibility criteria target applicants at least 18-years-old with an Associate, Bachelor's degree, or equivalent. Interested persons must complete an application form, a 500-800 word essay on how a learning opportunity at FortisTCI can be beneficial, and participate in an interview as part of the application process.

Commenting on the program, President and CEO Ruth Forbes stated: "The FortisTCI Apprenticeship Program is here to expand and enhance our career development initiatives. The Apprenticeship Program will help us harness new talent as we continue to develop a trained, ready, and experienced workforce to lead the transition to sustainable energy. I am confident that this program will be another gateway to recruiting some of TCI's brightest and best."
