The Edward Gartland Youth Centre (EGYC) also known as the Turks and Caicos Youth Foundation Inc., has received a generous donation of $100,000.00 from Wymara Resort & Villas.
The significant contribution, according to the EGYC, will support the centre’s efforts to empower local youth by cultivating life skills through a holistic youth focused approach that enhances their developmental needs.
The centre, whose vision is to expand the minds of young people in the community through collaborative social, educational and recreational programs, enables youth to develop skills, build character and discipline in a safe and nurturing environment.
“We are so grateful for the generosity and support of Bruce Maclaren and the entire Wymara Resort & Villas team” said Director, Roxann Wake-Forbes. “This donation will make a significant impact on our efforts to develop programs centered around the youth in the community. With this support, we will be able to make great strides towards the expansion of the youth centre and its programs.”
Bruce Maclaren of Wymara Resort and Villas expressed their commitment to supporting the expansion and the work of the Edward Gartland Youth centre.
“Our entire Wymara family are thrilled to be able to help support the great work that Roxann and her team are doing at the Youth Centre. The youth of Turks & Caicos are our future,” Maclaren said.
“The Edward Gartland Youth Centre would like to thank Wymara Resort and Villas for their support and generosity. Every donation helps us to further our mission and make a difference in the lives of the youth we serve,” Wake-Forbes said.
The Edward C. Gartland Youth Centre is listed as a non-government, non-profit facility that aspires to ‘empower the spirit of youth’. It opened its doors in November 2008 and caters to youth between 10 and 18 years of age and offers a wide range of free extra-curricular programs.
The centre’s focus is on empowering young people with skills, information and confidence in a safe and inspiring environment.
