The Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force has charged another American Tourist with carrying ammunition on Tuesday, 23rd April 2024.
The man is identified as Tyler Scott Wenrich, 31, of Virgina. Wenrich was arrested and charged by the Criminal Investigations Department. He was charged with possession of ammunition.
Wenrich appeared before a Grand Turk Magistrate on Wednesday, April 24, and was remanded into custody at the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation pending a June 7 Sufficiency Hearing.
According to the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force, based on reports, Wenrich travelled to Grand Turk on a cruise ship, and while going through a security checkpoint, it was discovered he had ammunition in his possession.
Officers of the Grand Turk Police Station were summoned, and Wenrich was arrested and subsequently charged.
Another tourist Ryan Watson was charged with ammunition and is now facing charges. On April 11, Watson and Valerie were arrested at the Howard Hamilton International Airport, allegedly after security personnel found four rounds of hunting ammunition in Ryan's carry-on bag.
Watson, who appeared in the TCI Supreme on Wednesday, April 24, before Tanya Lobban Jackson, was granted bail with one surety and ordered that he surrender his travel documents and report twice weekly to the Grace Bay police station in Providenciales. He was ordered to return to court on June 7, 2024.
