A Plea to the Young Men of the Turks and Caicos Islands

An OpEd by Minister of Home Affairs

My dear brothers, young men of this blessed nation, the time has come for us to reflect deeply on the path we are walking.

Too many of our communities are being torn apart by violence, too many lives lost senselessly. Today, I stand before you, pleading with you to put down the guns and stop the violence that is ravaging our homes, our families, and our future.

This is not the way we were raised, and this is not the future that was intended for us. We are a proud people with a rich heritage, and we must not allow the darkness of violence to overshadow our potential. There is a better way, and that way is found in Jesus Christ.

The Bible tells us in 2 Chronicles 7:14 (KJV):

"If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land."

Young men, let us humble ourselves and seek the face of God. He is the only one who can heal the deep wounds of our nation and bring peace to our troubled hearts. The violence, the anger, the bitterness—it will only lead to destruction. But Jesus offers us life, hope, and redemption.

In John 10:10 (KJV), Jesus says:

"The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly."

The violence is robbing us of our future, stealing our peace, and destroying the hope of our communities. But Christ offers us abundant life, a life of peace, purpose, and fulfillment. Let us turn to Him today. He is waiting with open arms to receive us, to transform us, and to lead us on the path of righteousness.

Brothers, it is time to make a change. Let us cry out to God and say, "Come, Jesus, come!" We need You right now in our homes, in our streets, in our hearts. Only You can bring the peace we so desperately need.

In Psalm 34:14 (KJV), the Word of God commands us:

"Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it."

Today, I urge you to depart from evil, to turn away from the violence, and to *pursue peace*. Lay down the weapons. Lay down the anger. Let us come together as brothers, united in the pursuit of a better future for our nation.

Jesus Christ is the answer. He is the Prince of Peace, and He alone can bring healing to our land. My prayer is that you will turn to Him today and allow Him to work a miracle in your life.

Let us pray together, asking God to intervene in our lives and in the life of our nation:

"Lord, we come to You, asking for Your divine intervention. Our land is broken, our hearts are heavy, and we need Your peace. We turn to You, Lord Jesus, and we ask You to come into our hearts, into our homes, and into our communities. Bring an end to the violence, heal our wounds, and guide us in the way of peace. In Your mighty name, we pray. Amen."

Turks and Caicos Islands, let us choose life, let us choose peace, let us choose Jesus.
