The Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force (RTCIPF) has identified 60-year-old Barnabas Norbert as the victim of a fatal shooting on Saturday night.
Norbert, a resident of Blue Hills, Providenciales, was killed shortly after 9 p.m. in a tragic incident that also left a 29-year-old man injured.
According to initial police reports, gunshots were heard near Phase One in Blue Hills, prompting a swift response from officers and medical personnel. Upon arrival at the scene, they discovered Norbert had succumbed to gunshot wounds, while the other male victim was rushed to a medical facility for treatment.
The RTCIPF has extended condolences to Norbert's family and friends during this difficult time.
Aggravated Burglary and Robbery Incidents
While officers were still investigating the murder scene, a separate incident occurred in the same area around 10 p.m. A male victim was reportedly accosted by two armed men upon arriving at his home and was robbed of valuables. The suspects fled the scene before police could apprehend them.
In another unrelated incident early Sunday morning, shortly after 2 a.m., a robbery was reported at a restaurant in Kew Town. Three suspects, one armed with a firearm, approached employees as they were closing and stole a black Honda Fit. The vehicle was later recovered in Dock Yard.

These incidents are currently under active investigation as the RTCIPF intensifies efforts to combat rising criminal activities.
