18-Year-Old Man, Alleged Rapist Minor, Face Series Of Burglary Charges


A Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force released mugshot of 18 year-old Damarian Palmer, who investigator said is responsible, along with a minor, for a string of burglaries in the Leeward Palms, Juba Sound areas of Providenciales.

A man who police said have been fingered in a string of burglaries was apprehended by members of the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force along with a 17-old minor, who is also charged with rape.


Eighteen-year-old Damarian Palmer was on March 30th charged jointly with the minor. The police said both committed a string of burglaries in the Juba Sound, Grace Bay and Leeward Palms areas.


Both are charged with four counts of burglary – one at the Turquoise Point Plaza, two counts at Wesley Methodist School and one count at the M.I.L.L.S Institute.

Palmer was granted bail in the sum of $7000, when he appeared in court. His matter was adjourned to April 19th.


The minor said to be of a Blue Hills address, Providenciales has also been charged with one count of rape following an incident in Blue Hills on February 24. He was also charged with using an imitation firearm during the commission of the offence.


He appeared before the Magistrate’s Court and was remanded in custody until May 5th, 2023. The minor also faces an additional charge of handling stolen goods.


Head of Crime, Safeguarding and Public Protection Superintendent Dean Holden, in confirming the charges said: “Within the past weeks, the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force officers have been working tirelessly to apprehend suspects involved in a string of home burglaries occurring within the early morning hours in Blue Hills.


“In two instances, the burglars would have sexually assaulted female occupants. The arrest and laying of charges is a major breakthrough in this case. We are continuing our investigations in these crimes”.
